This wasn’t bad as far as short story erotica goes, but maybe the author could have left out one sex scene and develop the characters just a little bit more. It opens with the main characters being all hot for each other and spends too much time thinking (and later doing) the horizontal hustle and not enough time telling us about who they are.

There was some character development, don’t get me wrong and I think the back story could have been fleshed out. Maybe drop the whole robot thing. Okay, maybe that changes the whole book, I dunno, but this could have been a great story (yes, it’s been done before, I know, thus the robot thing).

The writing isn’t horrible either, it felt a little stilted at times, but for erotica, it didn’t suck – and at the time I “purchased” it, it was free, so hey…

(Kindle Freebie)

I had to double check that I read the same book as some of the other reviews I’ve seen. There wasn’t really much violence in this book, at least nothing graphic or scary. There were a couple of light erotica scenes and a weird story.

I think this probably falls more under a short story – the second of three it appears (I missed that somehow when I got this book). And you kind of have to read them in order. I spent the first third of this story completely lost. There’s nothing to start out to keep you up, it just dumps you in the middle.

Perhaps all 3 (if it’s complete) should be re-bundled as a novella or something? Either way, if you are interested in reading this book, read them in order (appears to be Monster, then this one, then Minder – I think!).

I don’t know that I enjoyed this story enough to go back, pay for, and read the first short story.

Second book in the Minders series.

Two years after Minder Kiran Brunner abducted Josh Mackay, Josh’s life is in ruins. The agency controls his every move. He is essentially their prisoner. Josh dreams of escape. Instead, a nightmare arrives in the form of Brad.

This wasn’t too bad. I liked the fact that there was a story, it wasn’t just “he touched her breast, her heaving bosom responded to his breath” or whatever. That gets old.

It was predictable, but not horrible if you like erotica. The “backdoor” stuff isn’t too bad either, if you are squeamish about that (raises hand) so don’t let that scare you too far off.

====
Product Description
Anything can happen when jokers are wild. When Kayla Martin tries to revolutionize the sex toy industry she calls on the one person she’s grown to count on more than anyone else, her best friend and downstairs neighbor, Dylan Thompson. When Kayla approaches him about being a test subject for her newest invention, an anal toy, Dylan is intrigued and aroused. That is until he finds out that The Walnut Wand is an anal toy for men. Kayla’s sure that a prostate stimulator will be a hit, all she needs is a willing participant. Far from willing, Dylan flat out refuses, but that’s not enough to deter Kayla. After their monthly poker game, Dylan and Kayla decide to make a risky bet. Kayla wants a test subject and Dylan wants the one thing’s he’s being craving for years. They’ll risk it all on one hand, but anything can happen when jokers are wild. This book has been previously published. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit language, use of sexual aids and graphic sex.
