FUEGO FELG21C Element Gas Grill Carbon Steel

First off: This thing is an attention getter! I got this out for Father’s Day and my Dad asked me,”Is that going to be cooking for us?” We all got a good laugh trying to decide which robot from old movies it looks the most like. It’s a little bit of Robby the Robot, a little bit of R2-D2, but we think it looks the most like “Nomad” from the original Star Trek TV series.

But we all agreed: It looks awesome!

But…it looked a bit small…..

The measurements given don’t sound all that impressive, either. Especially if you are used to a multi-burner grill with 2 levels.

Here is what we had on there:

Round 1: 3 12 ounce Rib Eyes -AND- 6 10 ounce New York Strips.

Round 2: 10 large chicken breasts.

Round 3: 9 1/3 lb burger patties -AND- 10 hot dogs.

Our verdict on the size: Wow! It holds a lot more than you think because unlike 2-tier box grills, you can use every inch of space.

How did it cook?

First off you can choose to use 1 or 2 of the burners. Using 1 burner uses the large outside ring, using 2 burners uses the outside AND inside rings. In round 1, we wanted the steak Medium Rare to Medium Well. I just used the outside burner, putting the steak I wanted the rarest in the middle. It worked like a charm! Each steak was cooked to perfection (if I do say so myself). Each one got a nice crust, but was tender and juicy all the way through!

For the chicken and burger rounds, I used both burners on medium heat. Once again: the chicken was cooked but juicy, and the burgers were the same.

My only complaint: the chicken stuck to the grill. Next time I’ll oil it a little better before starting.

Overall: 5 Stars. Eye catching way to cook a great meal!

The Fuego Element Grill is the new standard in BBQ grill design. The slender, 23 inch diameter wheelbase, easily rolls into the center of your outdoor party and delivers ultimate cooking performance from the patent pending three component cooking system, comprised of a 21,000 BTU/Hr., dual ring stainless steel burner, 15+ pound porcelain enameled, cast iron cooking grate and sleek, lightweight hood with integrated heat reflector. The Fuego Element Grill gets hot quickly: 500F in five minutes and has a maximum temperature of 700F, perfect for searing! The heavy cast iron cooking grate insures even heat distribution and permits edge-to-edge cooking on its 346 square inch surface. That’s enough cooking surface to grill 16 burgers at once – more than enough for a family of four or the neighborhood sports team.
