Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag – Xbox 360 by by Ubisoft

My son has every Assassin’s Creed game and went gaga when he saw that I got this for him. Here are his notes on the game:

If you loved the other Assassin’s Creed games as-is, then you’ll love at least the first 1/2 of this game. Nothing has really changed much. Follow the story line. Sneak and jump around. Kill the target. It worked in the other games, it works in this one too.

It’s the other part of the game that will raise some questions. If you are into pirate sims, then the 2nd part of the game will appeal to you. If your not, then at least you know that you have the boarding sequences to look forward to.

Luckily, he isn’t a “one type of game” kind of kid, so he enjoyed playing all the way through.

Additional thoughts: Great graphics really bring the world to life (maybe too much if you are trying to determine if this “M” title is right for your child). The controls are consistent with past titles.

Overall: 4 Stars. If you love Assassins and love Pirates, this game is for you. If you are an AC purist, or if you get seasick easily, look elsewhere for your entertainment.

It is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established a lawless pirate republic. Among these outlaws is a fearsome young captain named Edward Kenway. His exploits earn the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard, but draw him into an ancient war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.

Rating: ★★★★☆
