Guest Post by Gabrielle Black, author of Treating Murder

This is Gabrielle Black interviewing Veronica Lane, M.D., a character in the book ‘Treating Murder’.

GB: When is your birthday?
VL: November 16

GB: What kind of music do you like?
VL: 80s music

GB: What does your name mean?
VL: True Image. Apparently I am an exact replica. Nobody says of what, however. Smiles.

GB: Are you an early riser?
VL: Yes.

GB: What subjects interest you the most?
VL: Science, obviously. Space. International news.

GB: Space?
VL: You know, stars, galaxies,…space. Stephen Hawking. Now, Morgan Freeman.

GB: Which are three 3 physical features you often get complimented on?
VL: My blue eyes. My calves. My complexion.

GB: What are you excessively obsessive-compulsive about?
VL: Everything. It’s a genetic thing. I inherited it.

GB: What do you prefer, eating salsa or dancing it?
VL: Eating it. I have two left feet.

GB: Which is one rule you are proud of breaking?
VL: Never talk with your mouth full? I don’t know.

GB: Do you believe in God?
VL: Yes. How can you look at the complexity of the human body, and not believe?

GB: What are your hobbies?
VL: Jogging, Jewelry-making.

GB: Is there someone you look up to?
VL: My dad.

GB: Why?
VL: He’s a great man. He’s living in India now trying to bring modern medicine to people who are still drinking water that you and I wouldn’t wash our car with.

GB: Do you think it’s okay to lie in certain circumstances?
VL: No. Maybe omit.

GB: What are the three things that you cannot live without?
VL: My smartphone, ponytail holders, and ok, maybe I’m a little bit nuts, but I can’t live without PBJ sandwiches.

GB: Which was the scariest moment of your life?
VL: The moment I heard someone reading me my Miranda rights. And on that note, I think I’m going to have to stop. I still get a little shaky when I think about that.

GB: Well, thanks for giving us this interview.
VL: Pleasure.
