FUSION (Portal Chronicles Book Five) by Imogen Rose

When the author sent me this book for review, I practically started bawling. The end of Arizona and the Wanderers and… no, it cannot be! Arizona is the anti-Bella of young adult literature. She’s strong-willed, self-confident and I’ve yet to want to drop kick her. Oh, she’s still a teenager, she’s a little whiny at times and all in love and conflicted, but… as much as the book is definitely fiction, she feels real. These kind of female lead characters are who I want my daughter looking up to.

So, this is the end (“my only friend, the end” – okay, anyone under 30 probably won’t get that)… the end of the Portal Chronicles. After I dried my tears and opened this book up, the author was able to completely transport me back into the Darley world, it’s like we never left. The flawless transition from book to book is what makes this series spectacular.

Here’s the thing… I could sit here and give you the plot, but I’ll let you read the description and I really don’t want to give anything away. This was one of the better endings to a series. It wrapped it all up nicely, but left you with a little of wanting more and perhaps a way to get a little more. I hope to one day meet Arizona again, but at least we know some of the cast will carry on.

Highly recommended for young adult readers – and adults. Easily one of my favorite authors these days with a writing style to sell your soul to the devil for.

There was just one little difference—my reflection was not separated from me by silver-coated glass. She could have been my twin, except I didn’t have one. No, she was me.
