Stuff Christians Like by Jonathan Acuff

One of my friends insisted that I read this and it took me a while to get through, reading bits here and there. The thing is that the chapters are really funny, I spent a lot of time laughing out loud. But it’s really hard to read as a “book”. I’d read a chapter or two and then move on to something else. I guess there’s a reason this is a really popular blog, right?

I’m not religious but SO much of this was not only true, but downright funny. I could have done without some of the side roads that got a little preachy, but it wasn’t too bad. The author doesn’t ram it down your throat and does a great job of making fun of himself (and he doesn’t mind take down others around him).

A great read for those with a good sense of humor, regardless of religious affliction… err… I mean, affiliation.

Sometimes, we fall in love on mission trips even though we know we’ll break up when we get back. Sometimes, you have to shot block a friend’s prayer because she’s asking God to bless an obviously bad dating relationship. Sometimes, you think, ‘I wish I had a t-shirt that said ‘I direct deposit my tithe’ so people wouldn’t judge me.’Sometimes, the stuff that comes with faith is funny. This is that stuff.Jonathan Acuff’s Stuff Christians Like Ebook is your field guide to all things Christian.
