… and I’m off (and Hour 1 Challenge) #readathon
My first read is I’m going to finish Let’s Do Lunch by KA Jordan – I’m into this one and want to finish it and it’s pretty light reading so I think it’s a great one to start off with…
Also from the readathon blog… an Hour 1 Challenge!
3 facts about me …
1) I got married the day after I turned 18, we have been married for 17 years now.
2) I lived in Hawaii for nearly 7 years, where I found who I was and who I wanted to be.
3) This is our 11th year in Austin, I didn’t want to move, but now I adore this city.
That’s probably more than 3, but…
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
11, but I know I won’t finish the all and will probably change what I’m reading as I go along
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
I say 15 hours, but really… whatever I feel like
I want to spend some time on other people’s blogs as well since this is my first year!
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
I’m brand new and a little intimidated… I will be following up on what others suggest!!

(Non)traditional Buddhist readathon blessing:
Just as the books fill the shelves,
Pile together on the floor and stack up on the table
So may the joy of the readathon
Flow forth to brighten your day and lift your spirit.
Books already read, books in progress and books yet to be read.
By the power of every word on the page
May your book be delightful,
As scary as Lovecraft’s Cthulhu
Or as sweet as a box of See’s candy.
Let the power of the images evoked by words
Keep you stay awake long through the night
May no obstacle impede
Your day filled with books.
For all of those who are reading today
Who follow in the path of Dewey
May your day be filled with the four blessings
Of fabulous books, tasty snacks, comfy chairs and joy.
