Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse #2) by Charlaine Harris
So, I tweeted this late one night:

‘Nuff said? No? okay….
I was kind of wondering where this story was going to go after reading the first book. There just didn’t seem to be anywhere… but the author did a good job of continuing Sookie’s story (can I say I HATE the name of the heroine. Sookie? Really? I’m not even going to point out Stackhouse.) (And who names a vampire Bill?!!??! Okay, okay…)
I must admit that the author has managed to suck (shut up) me into this series. I want to know what happens next… and then next…
This particular book had strong plot and moved quickly. The author wrapped it up nicely and told what she needed to tell without boring me or moving too quickly. I found the writing much improved from the first book and I found the heroine (in spite of her horrible name) much more likable and more heroine-like. I even liked the vampire more, he seemed less stiff (shut UP!).
I like the details the author put into certain areas of the book. For instance, now that vampires are “out of the coffin” (SHUT UP!), they have the obvious problem of transportation. I mean, now that they live among us, they want to go on vacation too. The solution? Well, you’ll have to read it to find out…
And if you’ve read the first, you’ll read the second. And, like me, you will have just bought the third one too…
Description:When a vampire asks Sookie Stackhouse to use her telepathic skills to find another missing vampire, she agrees under one condition: the bloodsuckers must promise to let the humans go unharmed.
