Dead as a Doornail (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 5) by Charlaine Harris

Sookie is back and this time there’s kissing and shooting and politics and tigers, oh my! This is such a silly little series, but it is oh so addictive. A lot happened in this book, from the various kisses to the fight to be packleader of the Weres. I liked how this book was written and laid out there. There was no lagging parts or holes in the story. I would say it’s a must read for those that have read this series, but you’re probably already addicted.

When Sookie’s brother Jason’s eyes start to change, she knows he’s about to turn into a were-panther for the first time. But her concern becomes cold fear when a sniper sets his deadly sights on the local changeling population-and Jason’s new panther brethren suspect he may be the shooter. Now, Sookie has until the next full moon to find out who’s behind the attacks, unless the killer decides to find her first.

You know, I was thinking when you reviewed the first one that you didn’t like it and wouldn’t keep reading. But now you’re well and truly hooked. I loved these and really want to see the HBO series. It’s watching without the teenager (who would probably love it) that’s a problem.

Heh. Lisa, I said “and then it got better” http://candysraves.com/2010/03/dead-until-dark-sookie-stackhouse-1-by-charlaine-harris/

Sigh, freaking books. They have very little redeeming value, but I cannot stop reading them. It’s like Stephanie Plum. I don’t even like her series, but I have to read one now and them. I blame you. And Dy. And my book nerd friends.
