Bissell 16N5 Healthy Home 12 Amp Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Wow, this vacuum really sucks (oh, come on, I had to say it!). Seriously though, it really does have some good suction power going on. I actually had just vacuumed my floors just 2 days before we got this and was kind of disgusted by all the stuff that came out of my carpets. I mean, we aren’t dirty people and it’s just our bedrooms that have carpet, so it’s not high traffic either. Kind of creeps me out.

Anyway, it really is a great machine, I won’t go over all the specs, you can look at the description for that, but a few things of note:

It’s heavy. But I think it’s one of those you get what you pay for type of things. There’s a lot of power here and it’s going to weigh a lot.

I don’t particularly like the way you have to hook the wand up. It’s great because it reaches so high, but I really prefer the handle to pull out and become the wand. Personal preference, but I’m one of those freaky people that always runs along the edge of the wall with the wand and it’s kind of annoying the way this one hooks up. Not a deal breaker though.

I have found we sneeze less in the bedrooms. So, it must be getting the extra dust and junk out of the carpets. We’ve been using it now for a couple of months and we have noticed it’s getting less and less stuff out (again, the first we used it, we had to empty the chamber after the first room – disgusting).

It’s not loud, but I wouldn’t call it quiet. It’s got a job to do and it makes some noise doing it. Bonus that my chihuahuas go nuts when we turn it on. One tries to bite it (and the thing has so much power, I worry it’s going to suck that little dog right up).

It works really well on tile too. The main areas of our home are tile floor. The biggest problems we have with using a vacuum cleaner on it is that it just slings the dirt and stuff around, not really sucking it up. The Healthy Home vacuum doesn’t do that.

Overall, this is a REALLY great vacuum cleaner. I’ve already recommended it to two friends that purchased it after hearing me rave about it. Definitely worth the price.

Equipped with 12 amps of power, this upright vacuum cleaner features a 9x multi-cyclonic cleaning system that creates non-stop suction to effectively pull out embedded dirt and debris for a deep-down clean. Its fingertip controls offer comfortable access to the power button and the brush switch. Flip the brush switch on to activate the 15-inch rotating brush when vacuuming low- to high-pile carpets and rugs; flip the switch off for safely cleaning hardwood and other bare-floor surfaces. Seven height-adjustment settings allow for selecting just the right amount of height needed for the floor type. The vacuum also supplies a long, 12-foot, anti-clog hose that delivers maximum suction for cleaning hard-to-reach areas like stairs and upholstery, plus a telescoping extension wand for overhead cleaning or for reaching far back into corners. Designed to purify the air while vacuuming, the unit’s AireTight HEPA filtration system traps 100-percent of dust mites, pollen, ragweed, and mold spores, and 99.9-percent of pet dander. It also provides built-in Microban antimicrobial product protection to fight the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew in the machine. Other highlights include a 15-inch cleaning path, durable construction with a sturdy anti-tip design, a lifetime belt that will never need changing, an easy-empty dirt container (no bags to buy), and a 30-foot power cord. A nice choice for keeping homes healthy and welcoming, the upright vacuum cleaner measures 14 by 15 by 44-1/2 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.
