(Book) Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar: Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes by Thomas Cathcart

89

I think I went into this book expecting funny jokes and then an explanation of how that ties into Philosophy. The authors tried, but I found most of the jokes either were bombers or they weren’t funny or they were groaners. I guess I wanted more from it. The tie in to Philosophy was small, at best. It’s a cute book, one I would give as a gift maybe just from the title and cover alone, but reading material? Not for me, I fear. Just an “okay” read.

About the book:

Description: Here’s a lively, hilarious, not-so-reverent crash course through the great philosophical traditions, schools, concepts, and thinkers. It’s Philosophy 101 for those who know not to take all this heavy stuff too seriously. (Philosophy)

Hmm that's too bad. After reading a review at Puss Reboots I added it to my TBR list. I still haven't read it of course. LOL
