(Product) Mr. Coffee TP3 Replacement Iced Tea Pitcher

First, don’t tell my mother that I’m even using an iced tea maker. She might disown me. I’m pretty sure that it is actually illegal in the low-country of South Carolina. But, I’m lazy and tired of my pots getting tea stains, so I use a tea maker.

The problem is the replacement pitchers. We’ve gone through several, average one new every year, because they break along the seam or they shatter if you drop them and they hit wrong. They just aren’t made all that well.

Yes, we’ve had to buy a couple because someone forgot to turn off the heat dry on the dishwasher (I seriously cannot be the only person who ignore “do not use in dishwasher” warnings), I consider those ones my fault…

… but, I wish they were made better. You can almost buy a new machine with new pitcher for the price of a replacement, so it’s a bit of letdown when we have to shell out money for a new pitcher.

Overall, it does the job, it fits the machine and all that. I just wish they’d upgrade the design already.

Okay, I was gonna come make fun of you for reviewing a replacement part, but dangit, you're right.

I own one tea maker and two pitchers and counting. I kept the old one because it was still a usable pitcher, just couldn't use it w/ tea maker due to *ahem* dishwasher warping.

It'd be nice if they'd make it a little shorter, too–these puppies take up a LOT of room in the fridge and are a PITA to store because they're so tall.

Now that I have a fridge with an ice dispenser, an ice tea machine might be worthwhile. Do you like the machine that this replacement goes with?

@Dy – See! I'm not as stupid as you thought, eh? 😉

@Shawn – well, yeah. Cuz I keep buying the stupid overpriced pitchers. LOL. I'd probably stick with Mr. Coffee brand. I bought an off brand years ago and I swear something was wrong with the tea that came out of that thing.
