(Movie) Juno

This reminded me (same type of feel) as Napoleon Dynamite. Only funny – and a little more serious. I laughed – a lot. I am not sure if it was one of the best films of last year, but it was really good. Ellen Page is definitely an actress to watch, BUT I was annoyed several times by her character and flippant attitude, esp in the beginning. I am still unsure about how I felt about the ending… Hmmmm… it’s most definitely worth a watch. I will probably eventually purchase this one 🙂

Product Description
Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) is a cool confident teenager who takes a nine-month detour into adulthood when she’s faced with an unplanned pregnancy-and sets out to find the perfect parents for her baby. With the help of her charmingly unassuming boyfriend (Michael Cera) supportive dad (J.K Simmons) and no-nonsense stepmom (Allison Janney) Juno sets her sights on an affluent couple (Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman) longing to adopt their first child.

I had some of those same mixed feelings, Candy. But life is so messy, and I tend to be very accepting of others’ personal decisions that are different from what I would have done (or did).

If you enjoyed Juno and Napolean Dynamite, check out Lars and the Real Girl.

Feels good to laugh at our own quirky humanity.

    Happy viewing!

*laugh* Trust me, I’m not one to judge anyone else (except for family but they are all crazy, so I’m completely justified – just kidding, sorta). 😉

I just don’t know how I felt about that ending in that movie, everything that led up to that… leading up to… that. Maybe it’s because it didn’t ring true in the context? I dunno…

I was a little annoyed by her attitude too… and I notice that Page plays the same character in all of her movies. Did she deserve an Oscar nod? It seems that she’s just playing herself!
